Our Projects

Educational stage play

Inspired by Torsten's book "Love your Nuts - Testicular cancer touched my life" Aldo Brincat currently turns Torsten's story into an educational stage play.
It includes fictional humourous characters and an exciting multi-layered plot line ...

The first test runs of the play will be in April/May 2017 in Cape Town. These first performances will be at schools. Students, teachers and parents will be invited to watch the play and give feedback afterwards. Corporates are invited too to contribute to a version that will work for corporates.

Once the final version is in place we like to stage it at schools. The performances will be free of charge for schools.

Cancer School Programm

Love Your Nuts goal is to raise awareness of testicular cancer by educating communities about the ‘rarely spoken about’ cancer that often remains undetected in young adults due to the multi-cultural diverse society in South Africa, where cultural taboos, stigmas and lack of knowledge about the subject is plentiful.
More details on the programme are here.

If you/your company would like to get involved and support health issues in South Africa AND help us educating the young generations about cancer, feel free to contact us.

The successful school programm from the USA will be adjusted for use in the South African school environment. We thank the Livestrong Foundation for their support and permission to adjust the programm.

*The content of the cancer book for students consists of the following: cancer information, cancer treatment, and how to support those living with cancer.
For the teachers it includes a manual on how to generate classroom discussions about cancer information, cancer treatment, and how to support those living with cancer. This  material will help students to cope with and learn about cancer, as well as get involved in the fight against cancer in your community.

Go nuts!

A nut (180cm diameter/inflatable) will be rolled from school to school to raise awareness for (testicular) cancer. At each school will be (hopefully) a survivor from that town/city willing to talk to the students about his/her cancer experience. Student should see/learn that people survive this disease and are not afflicted with a plague called witch or demon.
Once done at one school the ball will be rolled to the next school. Students should roll the ball from school to school to get them “physically” involved in cancer awareness. Hopefully this will be a memory for lifetime. This project should highlight the importance – for teachers, students and parents – of the cancer school programm.
Depending on funding the ball will be rolling nationwide.

On top of that a nut will be visible at every event, info or motivational talk at schools, sport clubs, company events, etc.
